Dental Technology
CEREC®
CEREC® technology combines computer software with advanced imaging tools to get an accurate digital "impression" of your tooth. Your tooth will be prepared for the porcelain restoration. After the preparation has been performed, a digital impression will be taken of your tooth. Then, your restoration is milled on site from ceramic porcelain during your visit! Once your porcelain restoration has been created, it will be placed into your mouth. Your new restoration will look and feel just like your natural tooth! With CEREC® technology there is no need to be fitted for a temporary crown and no need to schedule a second visit. If you need crowns, inlays, onlays or veneers, ask Dr. Rahill or Dr. Simon about CEREC®.
Benefits you receive because Rahill & Simon Dental use CEREC Technology for Restorations
- Porcelain restorations such as crowns and onlays can be created while you wait
- Most patients will not have to experience the traditional method for having an impression made with impression material
- An accurate fit for your restoration due to the advanced technology
- Fewer office visits, which means you save time for the things you want to do
- Natural looking restorations for a natural looking smile
Digital Radiographs
Digital radiographs are a perfect example of the many ways that advanced technology ensures your comfort and safety like never before. Digital radiographs provide Drs. Rahill and Simon and their team with instant images to use in mapping your teeth and diagnosing any problem areas. You won't have to wait for old-fashioned film processing. Additionally, digital radiographs produce a high-definition picture while exposing you to less radiation than traditional x-rays - another way this technology makes an already safe process even safer for you! Finally, digital images can be archived electronically in our computer system. This way your Rahill & Simon Dental team can keep them for future reference without the materials or space needed for physical files. This is better for the environment and significantly speeds up your overall experience!
Cosmetic Imaging
Cosmetic imaging allows you to see how your appearance might change with the application of cosmetic dentistry. By manipulating a digital photograph of your smile, Drs. Rahill and Simon and their dental team assist you in making the best decision for your dental health and overall appearance. Seeing how your smile will improve helps you make the right investment for the future of your teeth.
DIAGNOdent®
The DIAGNOdent® is a brand new, high tech tool that allows us to find cavities on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, even when they are just beginning and would have been missed by previous detection methods. The DIAGNOdent® is a small, portable laser unit that detects the cavity and alerts us with an audible signal and a numerical readout, so we have an idea of the cavity's size. The value is that we can stop cavities in their infancy, whereas in the past they would have to be significantly bigger before we could find and treat them. Just like other areas of medicine and dentistry, early detection and treatment is of immeasurable value in preserving your health.
Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera allows us to work with you as a team to meet your dental care goals. You can see what we see in your mouth. Our intraoral camera displays your teeth on a chairside monitor showing any areas of decay, cracks in your teeth, broken fillings, and much more. It is one of the most powerful tools we have to help you understand the treatment you will receive and why it is necessary. We believe informed patients make great decisions about their oral healthcare, so we encourage your questions and are eager to discuss your treatment options with you. We want you to picture how your appearance will improve with dental care, giving you all the more reason to smile.
Digital Photography
Digital photography gives your Rahill & Simon Dental team instant images for use to diagnose your condition or to track your progress. We can also utilize digital photographs for cosmetic imaging, helping you to see what positive changes dental treatment can have on your smile. Digital images can be saved electronically and are more efficient than traditional photographs that show less detail and take time to develop.
Caesy™ Education System
The Caesy™ Education System uses high quality and 3D graphics to show you detailed steps of the procedures recommended for you and why they are necessary. You will gain complete knowledge and understanding of your treatment. Relax and feel confident knowing you are making the most informed decisions for your teeth and gums.
